Many of us kids growing up in Aspen from the mid 70's to the late 90's had all kinds of experiences. One that is both embarrassing and yet enlightening is something I wish to share with all you folks. I attended the Aspen Community School and did my first play "Cuckoo's Nest" and was approached by Rhet's sister to do a program that she had in mind. It was about the experience of a hearing kid attending a Deaf Camp and showing the experience on Video... was this local Aspen Reality TV before its time. You deiced most of my comments are off the cuff so there was no scripting involved just editing like today. People ask what it was like in Aspen back then... well watch this and listen to John Denver and that really gives you a feel. I hope you enjoy this... believe me when I tell you this was not my most embarrassing moment. I thank the Aspen Camp School for the Deaf and then Aspen's Grass Roots TV.
Thanks,
Andy Collen
Thanks for sharing this Andy. what a unique experience and opportunity to grow your character. I met your Mom through my good friend Susannah. I have a copy of her book--a treasure. What a treasure for her to have a son like you. I hope we can meet one day. Lael
