The Elfenworks Foundation, in conjunction with Campus MovieFest, is pleased to announce the winners of the annual film festivals 2008-09 Elfenworks Social Justice Award. First place went to "Homeboy Industries," a compelling short about an LA-based gang prevention program founded by In Harmony with Hope winner Greg Boyle. The winning team of students calls itself streetknowledge and hails from the University of Southern California." The filmmakers offer an inspiring story, and the strongly compelling and thought-provoking statistics comparing the cost of education vs. cost of incarceration does a good job of making their point," said TEF founder Dr. Lauren Speeth.
