Aprilias have always been the best sounding motorcycles to me. Even at its age the RSV still out-corners/brakes 99% of 1098s and all jap bikes. Even 2008 magazine shootouts, which are usually totally biased against any bike which hasn't been 100% redesigned every 2 years admit this.
Its just down on horsepower. I think the rsv 100 r factory puts out around 130?
200+ hp v4 will solve that.
Who's debut will be biggest? ktm/bmw/aprilia? Maybe some buell 1125Rs and Mv Agusta f4s in the mix too?

RSV Factory puts out 143hp.. The most interesting fact is that RSV is obsolete when you compare it's technology with the KTM's and Ducati's. So the win on the Masterbike 2008 is the acknowledgment of the well balanced motorcycle...
But i wouldn't trade my RSV 02 for the new one. The V4 - maybe :)
