Well, I see it as a preemptive strike. And unfortunately playing fair doesn't determine who wins wars. Neighboring nations have many times tried and wanted to destroy Israel. Maintaining a strong army and fighting when it is needed is the only way to survive.

@Wilhoable most certaintly true but you do realize that the Egyptian air force wasn"t actually destroyed by actual combat it was destroyed by a secretly planned attack by the IDF which was the start of this war.

@ClanImmolation Yes but the Air Force was smaller. In modern warfare, if you control the skies you also control the ground. And destroying the Egyptian Air Force was the thing that allowed Israel to win.
