It's Obvious Why "Wish You Were Here" Reminds These Guys Of Syd Barrett! When I heard This For First Time At The Very Beginning, It Imediately Reminded Me Of "Wish You Were Here"! I Had To Add A Minute Or So At The End To Polish Up what I Felt when David Gilmour Hit The first Strum On The Accoustic! Thank You Syd Barrett For Giving Us Pink Floyd! Thank You David Gilmour for Reminding Us Of Where Pink Floyd Was Born! In Syd Barrett! Rest In Peace.

Pink Floyd music is bigger than the band itself. Roger Waters even acknowledged that.
Roger thought P.F would not survive, and he admitted he was wrong.
I think all the members past and present, have made Pink Floyd what it is. And we should thank them all for the music that grace our 'airwaves'.
I watched 'Live in Gdansk' last night, and I always get emotional when Rick sings. Long live the music.

@c0mfor7a31yNum3 "We all know & love." Lolwhat no. Also, without Syd, I bet we wouldn't have even ever heard David or Roger's songs.

Without David Gilmour, Pink Floyd would have vanished years ago. Syd was a part of the P.F process, and his 'opt out' of the band was his own doing.
I've followed P.F from start to finish, and loved every moment of it.
Sadly the soul of Pink Floyd is no longer there. Without Rick, there definately is no comeback.
Goodbye Pink Floyd......long live Pink Floyd.

@TheTwelly very well said,Too Many people Try & Give credit of pink floyds success to syd barrett, when in all essence of things,He contibuted the absolute least to the band as a bandmate of Pink Floyd.& Yes, Without David or Rick,i Agree That The Band Would Have faded Away just as Syd Did. People Dont Realize How much Rick put into the band, not only that but also how much he actually sang as lead Vocals on many Many Albums. As Amazing as RW writing was, the magic to me was always in the music

Saying Pink Floyd is better without Syd is like saying that genesis is better without Gabriel...
bozboz777 1 year ago
@bozboz777 bottom line, syd left, he could have made it to the gigs if he wanted to, the band, syd & all of music agree that Pink floyds success was a direct result of Syd leaving. if he stayed, the band would have crumbled to pieces just as he did. sad, but true, this does not go without say that syd was infact a musical genious, too bad he couldnt hold it together to share in the success of his bandmates. cant compair what happened to gabriel to what happened to syd,
