Part 3 of 3. Chinese media discussing the Type 95 Rifle and the 5.8mm round.

The programme discusses the merits of the Type 95 and the 5.8mm round, compares it to various rifles like the M16, the AK74 and the AUG carbine, and looks at some of the Type 95 variants available including the Type 95 Carbine, the Type 95 GPMG and the Type 95 Sharp-shooter's variant.

PS: I think the presenter in the last segment wasn't completely correct. The 5.8mm general purpose machine gun which he says is part of the Type 95 Weapons family looks to my untrained eye like the QJY88 5.8mm gpmg. That is an earlier rifle and more information can be found here: http://www.sinodefence.com/army/crewserved/qjy88_05.asp

Ditto the sharp-shooter's rifle. It looks like the QBU88. http://www.sinodefence.com/army/small_arms/qbu88.asp

  • INDIA ALSO UNDER DEVELOPING A MULTI CALIBRE BULLPUP GUN !

    IT'S FOR F-INSAS PROJECT !

  • I guess Americans don't like History. The Chinese invented the gun.The world copy the Chinese not the other way around.American guns/weapons are just like the Chinese and other countries but just cost more.

  • The PLA just got scarier....

  • 6.8mm SPC> 5.8mm

  • 1:35, that is an ak47, you can tell by the magazine

  • @Goodspittin QBZ-95 is a combination of the accurate M16 and the reliable AK

  • @MrFacebuster None of the nation got this weapon yet

  • @Paulmarti It is obvious clone weapons made by China are shit because they are cheap copies of much more expensive designs (except for the Tokarev). You obviously get what you pay for. This rifle; however, is for Chinese military use and will probably be of much better quality than weapons designated for export.

  • @1JesseW The AK design is inherently more reliable than most other platforms, despite country of origin. Afterall, the AK design was made to be cheaply produced. Have you tried any other Chinese firearms? Chinese Tokarev... shit. Chinese AR-15... shit. Chinese shotguns... shit. By the way, the M16 has come a long way since 'Nam. There's a reason why we've used it for so long, and there's a reason countries that can afford to will use anything other than an AK.

  • @Paulmarti The Type 56 was the most widely used rifle in Vietnam by the NVA and the Viet Cong. Guess what? It's made in China, and according to many American vets, you can depend on it a lot more than the M16A1.
