Claire lost 5 stone after having her 2nd baby! This is now the 2nd time she has lost loads of weight. Jane McDonald and Carol Malone also discuss the pressure to stay thin

  • Bloody hell during the 2nd World War, everyone was rationed on how much they could eat....and surprise surprise , most people were more thin then! It is such a luxury to be able to eat anything we want these days, but people just have to learn to control themselves! As for Claire....whatever size she is she claims she's happy. Here she's a 10, and is happy, but 2 months ago she was a size 16 saying she was happy. Concentrate on ur career love and stop bleating on!!!

    On a proper diet and exercise reduction program I'm assuming that she probably lost closer to 7 or 8 stone in fat and gained a couple of stone in muscle mass. Using a scale as the only measure of weight loss is why so many people who change their lifestyle get frustrated, I think: You're always going to hit those plateaus where your muscle gain catches up to your fat loss and the needle on the scale doesn't budge.

    Claire was always lovely regardless of size, I think.

    Incredible isn't the right word, you're right, but it is an example of healthy weight loss. Anyone can lose weight, you just stop eating, not everyone can lose weight in a manner where they'll keep it off. With fat lost and muscle mass gained Claire lost a little over a pound a week which is the amount of weight that a good diet and exercise program should help you lose.

  • @lesterclaypool1 Yes that's quite true, but you would assume more than that in 12 months, even if it is gradual reduction. However, I'm sure she wasn't 'racing' to lose it haha and was happy to do it slowly.
