And what i completely can't understand is why people hate on requiem.
Just because it lacks monsters?
Requiem is not just a story's end, its the last step in Philip's road into madness. Requiem's music is trasformic, the logic of things happening around is completely lost.
There are no monsters, but the atmosphere is going completely wild. Even worse than it was with Clarence sitting inside protagonist' head. Scary enough.
It is the shortest game: only 3 hours, but my head feels raped now...

@Lucap1000 I know right? Amnesia is scarier because the HPL engine had evolved, but IMO penumbra has a better story.

Red, what have I done...

@GamblerJustice exactly, cause every second you're like "SHIT, what the fuck was that noise! and oh god! whats behind that corner!" scares me shitless every time

@MrCrazyian123 Thats Nice. (:
Considering This Is A PENUMBRA Video, A Few People Would Like If You Could Put AMNESIA Comments On AMNESIA Videos.
Oh, And If You Need To Get Away From The Gatherers, Take Something To Throw At Them. :D

BEST GAME EVER!!!!

Amnesia may be scarier, but there's just something about Penumbra which makes me love it more.

pt 2.
The problem with a lot of horror games, the Dead Space series being one of them, is that they put too much focus on simply being scary, neglecting pretty much everything else. The result is a gazillion scripted "scares" in a hollow world with hollow characters. In this end this backfires: a non-immersive world cannot be scary. Overture isn't just scary when you're being chased, it manages to immerse the player so well that you're terrified all the time.

I've never been so affected by a video-game theme like this one, I love it. It has given me the chills from the first time i started to play it. And It has also inspired me to make my own short-horror games in general. Frictional games have mastered the survival-horror genre in this generation of video games.
They know what real fear is about, and they learn from their "mistakes". The Penumbra series was a god-sent gift to us all. And they perfected it into Amnesa:The Dark Descent. Go play it
