I'm talking about on fight day where aoki won't weigh any more than he usually weighs in at, and the ufc lightweights who will pack on a good 15-20 pounds after they re-hydrate.
huh? i looked at what I wrote I have no idea how you came to that conclusion. Aoki weighs the maximum a UFC lightweight can weigh (155) so just for clarification there is no need for him to cut weight right now. And that's not coincidentally his natural weight. he weighs that because he has an edge weighing the most a LW can.
And OF COURSE Aoki cuts weight. How can you say Aoki dosen't cut weight? If that's true then how did he go from weighing 168 lbs in Shootoo to 155 pounds in DREAM?
That doesn't meant diego has better grappling than aoki. I mean look at their grappling ahievements, aoki's is better than diego's. Not to mention aoki is a bb in bjj and judo and diego is only a brown belt in bjj.
Lol it sounds like you're saying the fighters in the ufc don't cut weight. Majority fighters in the ufc cut weight. If you weigh like 170-175 lbs you'd go down to 155 lbs and fight in the lw division. Only people who don't cut weight are hw's. And aoki doesn't cut weight because japanese fighters like to fight at their natural weight.

what??? he would be fighting people that weigh 15 pounds more than him?? You do know there are weight classes right? Aoki weighs 155 and lightweight division in UFC is 155. That's the limit.
yea but if aoki were to step into the octagon, he'd be facing guys who are 15-20 lbs. heavier than him at the very least (as he doesn't seem to cut any weight), which equates to a major advantage for his opponents, especially when it comes to neutralizing his ground game
size doesn't necessarily mean you're strong. I weigh 135 lbs small frame and push 70 on each hand dumbell chest press. thats the same as my friends who weigh 170.
also bruce lee had a small frame but still was somehow able to split a punching bag in half with his kicks.
