Far better than the old Fudge stuff ......too bad Beck had to wait until healed to play with them as Beck Bogert and Appice......great blues rock and my friend Bill is a huge fan of these guys.

man your generation had it all, best music, large political movements, and freedom of expression. If only my generation would write some decent tunes, not be so fucking lazy and change the things that are wrong in this world and not just complain, and not be pretentious douche-bags the world would be a lot better of a place. i'm only 16 but i feel like a mid 70s early 80 flower child. And no my parents are not hippy stoners.

@Rockonrick51 Jack Casady was the Bass player for The Airplane, Starship and Hot Tuna --- not Tim Bogart!
-
The Base player is Tim Bogart he was in Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna, Beck Bogart & Appice and a few other great bands back then. They truly had fun playing because all of them were so good they could strike a note and turn it into something interesting. :)

I've just recently discovered this band via the Cactology compilation disc. Pretty raw stuff, and you can tell the singer is just a bit on edge. Add a killer guitarist and one of the best rhythm sections in rock and you've got a wicked band. These guys should've stayed together in the original lineup. After that, who gives a shit? The fourth album sounds like a completely different band.

Promoted Cactus and a regrouped Steppenwolf in the late 70's in a show in Roanoke with Rusty Day on guitar and vocals. Got to know him a little he and some friends stayed in touch on and off until his untimely death. Was a hell of a show. We got both bands up on stage with a little inducement and they jammed together to end the show. A great night of music.

It's funny how guitarists today try and get this tone out of modern gear and over analyze *everything* about achieving it... It's really so simple, 25% soul, 25% fingers to get soul out to guitar, 25% guitar to transfer soul to amp, 25% cranked 4 input Marshall to get the entire mixture out to other souls...

OH MAN!!! Cactus opened for Uriah Heep at the Hollywood Sportatorium (FL) in 1972 and a few month earlier Uriah Heep had opened for Deep Purple at the same venue... THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!
These were The Days, man. THESE where The Days! Man, 1971 ... mid-high-school days!
Who else wants to get in a time machine and go back for a while? C'mon ... let's go!
Thank you for posting! You've made this old-timer very happy ... Peace ... FoJ.
