Really great interview with ASP. I love her attitude and style. I saw the first episode of Bunheads, and hope it gets many seasons.

i;m sorry if this sounds awful, but i think it;s better to have a low-diverse cast than to have one where people of color are just used as tokens. like on glee which prides itself on being diverse but all we know about tina and mike is that they;re asian, and the they;re the asian kids who date each other and go to asian therapy which just feels cheap.

"I got some nice bras, I don't wanna burn 'em up". Ugh. I started watching this a huge ASP fan. You're a feminist, woman, if you like it or not. This whole discussion about women is bullshit.

"Do you think it was wrong for a woman to criticise another woman..." WHAT is this question? Are you fucking serious? So your question is about sticking up for other women but not accurately representing minorities? Of all the follow-up question to that tweet, ffs.

Along with her use of the word "retarded" at the beginning of this interview, as much as I love ASP, a lot of things she does make me uncomfortable. If it's a choice between under-representation and tokening, tokening is far better. At least you're acknowledging other cultures exist and are part of our society. ASP has the talent to include characters of minorities without making them tokens though - she can make them as multi-dimensional as her many straight, white characters. It's important.

Bunhead works, I love this show and all the characters. So looking forward to more episode. I almost gave up on American tv til this show. Kinda started watching Asian dramas (so good, do reccommend).

I don't think you have to be girly to be a girl, or that not liking bras automatically means other things about you. However, I agree your sex shouldn't have anything to do with how your seen as an artist. Art is art, and it's meant to be universal. Just as it's wrong what Shonda Rhimes said to her (people aren't tokens), it's also wrong to assume that because you are like someone else in some way, you shouldn't criticize them. Isn't that how we grow as people?
