Some random thoughts on recent events and our "Gun Culture." If you hate guns and gun owners, please go elsewhere; this is not your forum or blog. This is a shooting channel.

One of the key points I wanted to make here is that for millions of Americans, guns are as common as golf clubs, baseballs & gloves, or any other sporting equipment people have around the house. Other than the obvious need to be careful with them, as with vehicles, matches, gasoline, etc., I regard them as nothing different from anything else. When visiting friends or relatives over the decades, it's nothing for me to throw in a few firearms to take along that I know they might enjoy seeing or shooting.
I'm lucky to live in the United States, as well as in a "free state." For example, I might visit a gun shop today, literally, and perhaps see a gun I want to purchase. If so, it will take about five minutes to do the paperwork and get the background check online. I'll bring it home and be shooting the gun within minutes. It's just not a big deal. This is what so many people cannot relate to, I suppose, especially if they've grown up in a family or country where firearms are considered "dangerous" and just not around much. Having grown up in Kentucky and Tennessee, firearms for me are as much a part of life as fireworks, basketball, football, or boating. The fact that there are some "bad" or "crazy" people in the world who murder, rape, steal, torture, stab, shoot people, etc. just has very little to do with me. I do NONE of those things and have no inclination to do so. I am very thankful I have the easy means to prevent any of that from happening to me. I understand if your experience is far different from mine, but I'm darn sure not going to allow you to determine how I live MY life.

By the way, a few facts:
The "AR" in AR15 stands for Armalite Rifle; they introduced the rifle.
Semi-automatic rifles and technology have been around for over 100 years.
An "Assault Weapon" is a firearm capable of full-auto fire. These are already very highly regulated and require a long waiting period and Federal Stamp. Virtually none of the ARs and AKs in gun shops, gun shows, and citizens' hands are "Assault Weapons," of course.
Gun-Free Zones serve as "Easy Murder Zones" for any psychopath who chooses to do it.

I live in Maryland. I have written my senators, and representative. That would be Donna Edwards, Barbara Mikulski and Bill Cardin. they are about as willing to listen as a brick wall. I got a canned response from them that equated to telling me they are concerned about gun violence but respect the 2A.

The governor is Martin O'Malley. We now have a 10 round mag restriction and Beretta, just down the road from me, has threatened to pull out of the state as MagPul did in CO.

    Me spun up?

The "fringe element" is the same as the NRA; it's the 5 million of us individuals that support what the NRA is doing. That is why we vote by sending them our money each year for membership.

I dont think joining the NRA will solve your problems, since the NRA seems to be a fringe element at this point. the people in charge are going around blaming everything that isnt the gun nor the person with the gun, not just that, but in general, it feels like the NRA are just completely out of touch with reality.

I dont have an issue with gun owners, as long as they are responsible, but dont go around thinking that the NRA has your best interests in mind, since they obviously dont.

Yes, for there is a difference between an American with no Nukes, and American whom has the most, and it is actually true since the US has the most nukes, power in the world that can perhaps literally destroy the world.

So there is a reason why they don't remove their guns, because they must guard a person who can literally cause a global disaster if he is caught without a guard

You might notice that banners want to ban OUR guns, not THEIR guns. Obama has at least a 50 person armed guard. Feinstein serves in a congressional body with a ratio of three police officers for each congrescritter. Hooray for me and to Hell with you attitude of hypocrites.

A regiment of a collective area of varying peoples with political views, very much similar to the comments in this video, can somewhat represent the majority of the population, take that into account as well though.

Violent gun crime will never stop and the availability of quality mental care will never be enough to stop those crimes. To those who actually believe the government wants your guns, refer to my comment about quality mental care. As far as gun laws go, I come from Oregon, where it is legal to own these guns and gun ownership is HIGHLY regulated and we have less gun crime than many other places in America. Good laws that place guns in the hands of the lawful save lives and protect the 2nd ammdt

Actually, I talked with a clan of Britons, actually to be more precise, a Regiment, people who envask in the mighty usage of guns, and they are more happy that they dont have guns under the Gov't of Great Britain rather than to have guns under the US Gov't.

I enjoy and like guns for recreational sporting and personal defense though being in California is discouraging with all the firearm restrictions.
