Narciso Yepes rehearses exerpts of the Concerto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo : Allegro con spirito, followed by part of the 2nd movement, Adagio (2 parts)
Seeing an artist in his / her natural habitat, learning, making mistakes, refining their technique, is at times more fascinating and educational than seeing perfect performance after perfect performance.
It allows us to appreciate the musician as a fellow human, and not a flawless deity. His memory IS honoured by this video. As a musician myself, i can appreciate a more down-to-earth approach to a spectacular performance.
@Rexicano You are aware that Sr. Yepes passed away 11 years ago, are you not?
You did see on my profile that I am related in-law to the Yepes family - they provided me with the archives you see here.
You are right: this is not the best example of his playing. I'm afraid to ask but: why do you think this video has 3000+ views, if not for the pedagogical value? He does what this rehearsal calls for: he respects the score and the mesure. Inspiration and emotion were not really needed here.
@Rexicano This is indeed a "rehearsal", as you can see in the title of the video. If you really knew anything about music, I would not have to explain: In a reherasal, the soloist is not expected to play at his best; that is reserved for the public 'performance'. Now do you understand?
It turns out this video is more popular than certain performance vids because the camera angle and lighting allow viewers to better appreciate technical aspects of NY's playing. Now do you see why I posted it?

Exactly;
why YOU decided.
Not Sr. Yepes...you are posting it.
But then, I'm not allowed to say it's bad either, I suppose.

Well, you won't understand my real point;
It does not honor the memory of Sr. Yepes to show him fumbling through a rehearsal in his old age.
It's sad really. I actually feel bad for him and since there are many videos where he plays well...why post one where he is not very good?
I don't believe he would want this clip up on YouTube as it's really not a perfromance. Besides, I think your wife agrees.

@Rexicano As usual, you have no argument.

I think it was last night when I was having sex with your wife.

@drewdavis58 Removed your comment by accident. You said:
Bad playing is bad playing. Don't get your panties in a twist.
