There was at least two more ranks in the original game: Return to mother country as king's advisor and hero and last one was same return and hero but as a prince. I never achieved prince in my genesis console, only when one year ago I cheated in emu and got to know this last title. Strange in Sid's pirates only has governor :S

@SiLxQQ yeah you can play until you're dead...
but only when you never make plunder share when you are old..
(you're crew will leave you yeah, but i always use only 1 ship, so i never run out of crews)

So in this game you can't play forever? Can't I be like 100 years old and never retire? Answer please. I played just a while and I'm considering buying it. One more question - can you BUY ships, or just take them in fight?

@Bojak10 yeah..when ur getting old, ur not healthy enuff to go on and ur crew will leave u too.. so sometimes its gonna be auto-plunder. As for the ship, i think we cant buy that. only can buy upgrade for the ship like cannon etc

I am speechless. 4 lost cities found, all family members, pirates defeated, all treasure found, the Marquie de la Montalban defeated... And only an attractive wife? Lololololololol. So close to the perfect score.
