I feel lucky to be alive in this time in history. We had Hank Williams AND recording at the same time, now generations of people will have the pleasure of knowing who this man was. But, I still can't shake the feeling of how awesome it would have been to see this live. I know, when I get to heaven, I'm goin to Hillbilly heaven, where the fun don't stop and the music goes all night, and all our favorite country musicians will be there singin with us.

Hank Williams: The Biography Early Chapter Examines Singer's Inspiration From Street Musician
Initially published in 1994, an updated version of Hank Williams: After emerging as one of country music's most famous singers in the early 1950s, Williams often credited Alabama street musician Rufus "Tee-Tot" Payne as his musical mentor. This excerpt from Hank William explains the inspiration that Tee-Tot provided and why Williams was barely influenced by the first country superstar, Jimmie Rodgers.
