I just tried and and guess what? It did not work. The phone still was able to receive a call. Turns out that most phones the casing is part of that antenna so aluminum acts like antenna. It may in fact boost the signal I will have to test that. So wrap the phone is paper or plastic before warping it in aluminum foil. Do test before hand to see what does and does not work.
