The monster
Boy, I love getting a variety of foods, but I need my exercise so I don't gain too much weight. I was visiting my grandfather - Charley my father was away on business! Irwin is nice, he spoils me rotten -he took me for a walk, and I wandered off. Irwin doesn't go one long walks the way Charley does. And he walks a lot slower. He limps so he has trouble keeping up with me when I begin to move.. I know that I'm small, but I can run pretty quickly. I decided that I did not want to walk anymore so I went back to the apartment. I was glad that Irwin finally came home to let me in... he usually scratches my back and feeds me a little after a midnight walk. You know, a midnight snack before we go to sleep. Being with an older person has advantages.. Irwin wakes up several times during the night to go to the john. Usually, he looks for a snack to eat, and even though I'm asleep, he usually comes by to see if I am hungry enough to raise my head... It is like being feed while I'm in bed... I get a nice variety of food when I'm with Irwin, Charley limits my diet to dog food and some bread. With Irwin, I get all types of stuff, and a few different types of bread to eat. He has been dipping bread in soup for me to have as a snack, the bread is o.k. and is better than the vegetables from the soup. I guess when it is chicken or beef soup -- the bread takes on that flavor. I also like the Italian bread when it is dipped in the chicken gravy -- Irwin cooks the chicken in barbecue sauce and the sauce combines with the chicken fat.. So it tastes much sweeter than just the drippings from the chicken. At first, I stick my nose up at the bread... when I do that, Irwin pays more attention to me.. otherwise, he would just put the chicken or bread in a bowl and I would have to eat it alone. I luck out when we get chicken, I get to eat the chicken (I'm hand fed) -- Irwin thinks it's too hot for me, so he cuts the chicken into pieces and feeds me a little bit at a time. After I have the chicken, he sometimes dips bread into the gravy -- and I get that too.

I know that it takes longer, but he sometimes rubs my head or back while I eat out of his hand. That's a lot nicer than eating it alone from the bowl.

Pizza is o.k. especially if it is barbecue chicken. It is better than just plain cheese, and Irwin usually gives me most of his chicken.. so I get a double portion. I just wished that they put more chicken on the pizzas. They charge so much, and they really skimp on the chicken. The three meat pizza is usually better; there is more of the stuff that I like on those pies. It was nice this time, Irwin forgot that I was a dog, and the first egg omelet that I got didn't have the dog food. It had ham and cheese mixed in with onions and peppers. It adds a flavor that the dog food omelets just do not have. I think that Irwin used more than one egg this time, I guess he wanted to eat the eggs too. That's probably why he left out the dog food. I wish he would try it... he would realize why I like my omelets without the dog food. I wish that he told Charley about the omelets! It is about time Charley learned to make them for me. . Until Next time, Monster
