Joe: stay out of my life.
Selena: *looks into his eyes* do you really mean that?
Joe: *rolls his eyes* uh, yeah.
Selena: do you hate me that much?
Joe: so much that I want you to get lost.
Selena: just so you know, the feeling us mutual. *turns and walks away*
Joe: *looks around him sadly*
Nick: *passed by* something wrong, joe?
Joe: everything is wrong. Im sorry for what I did yesterday.
Nick: oh.
Joe: can I ask you a favor?
Nick: sure.
Joe: walk home with selena.
Nick: what?
Joe: you heard me.
Nick: yesterday, you punched me because you were jealous. Now, you want me to walk home with her. I dont get it.
Joe: she does not know how to get home by herself. Shes afraid of the dark. She might get lost. Some strangers may try to hurt her on the streets. Make sure she gets home safely.
Nick: why dont you do it?
Joe: I cant.
Nick: you still love her, dont you?
Joe: just do what I said. *stands up and walks away*
Nick: *scratches his head*
W/ SELENA
Selena: *confused* which way?
Nick: hey!
Selena: *turns around* hey.
Nick: Ill walk home with you.
Selena: really?
Nick: yeah.
Selena: do you know any shortcut?
Nick: theres only one way to get home.
Selena: thats bad.
Nick: why?
Selena: joe asked me to stay away from him. We might see him on the way home. I dont want to.
Nick: Im sure he did not mean it.
Selena: he did. I asked him.
Nick: really?
Selena: yeah. *looks down* I said I hate him too.
Nick: too bad, he asked me to walk you home.
Selena: *looks up* what did you said?
Nick: he asked me to make sure you get home safe because he is worried you might get lost or get hurt.
Selena: youre just saying that to make me smile. He wont do that. He hates me.
Nick: yeah, right. Lets just go home.
AT SELENAS HOUSE
Selena: thanks for walking with me.
Nick: youre welcome. You should say thanks to joe too.
Selena: no way. *slams the door*
Selenas dad: hey sweetie.
Selena: hey dad.
Selenas dad: why is that boy with you? Dont you think joe will get mad?
Selena: hes nick, joes cousin. Hes a friend.
Selenas dad: good. Coz joe is really the man.
Selena: dad---
Selenas dad: he just called.
Selena: what?
Selenas dad: he asked of youre already home and I said youre at the door and he also asked me not to tell you he called. Is there any problem with you two?
Selena: we broke up.
Selenas dad: what?
Selena: you heard me dad.
Selenas dad: oh selena. Can I do anything to make you feel better?
Selena: honestly, you do dad.
Selenas dad: really?
Selena: really. I have to ask you a very big favor and it can affect both of our lives now.
Selenas dad: woah. This sounds dead serious.
Selena: it is. *eats a handful of pickles*
NEXT DAY
Joe: nick!
Nick: hey joe.
Joe: did you do what I asked you?
Nick: yeah. I told her you asked me to do it.
Joe: what!?
Nick: I told her---
Joe: I know what you said. I just cant believe you told it to her. She might think---
Nick: that you still love her? We both know thats true.
Joe: I dont.
Nick: sure.
Joe: by the way, where is she?
Nick: shes still not here.
Joe: *crosses his arms* shes gonna be late again. Gosh, shes nothing without me.
Nick: *chuckles* why?
Joe: Ill say sorry for what I said yesterday. I will be friends with her.
Nick: good for you. Back to the first step again, huh?
Joe: we wont be the same again.
Miley: *comes in the room*
Joe: *stands up* miley.
Miley*ignores him*
Joe: wheres selena?
Miley: this is all your fault.
Joe: *clueless* what did I do?
Miley: she left for Washington to stay out of your life!
