Nick's POV:
It felt like I had been waiting a million years.
I sat there waiting for a reply and got nothing but a blank stare.
It felt like an opposite universe. I now knew how she had felt earlier tonight.
Wow, earlier tonight seemed so far gone.
I stared back at her with a sadness stricken face, :you don't know who I am, do you?" I chocked out of my mouth like bad fish.
She starred back for a few more seconds, then finally said something, :I feel like I do, or that I should, but I do know something..." she paused for a moment, as if she needed to contemplate if what she was about to say would be accurate or not.
"what?" I asked try to pull some type of memory out of her.
"that...that I love you too?" she replied, in more of a question, "yes. Im sure that's right" she said as if stating an unimportant fact about broccoli.
I wanted to cry. How was I supposed to know if she meant it now? I don't feel that she had any feelings at all saying that she loved me.
"Emily," I said and intertwined my fingers with hers, "can I try to help you? Help you remember?"
"urm, I guess so" she replied back, but seemed unsure.
"don't worry, I won't hurt you" I said and smiled at the ridiculous thought, she would probably end up hurting me more than I will her.
She smiled back, "I know you won't"
I paused and stared at her beautiful face again and couldn't help but reach over and touch my hand to her cheek.
"do you know how beautiful you are?" I said in a stunned voice.
She smiled at me, "you've said that before haven't you?"
I chuckled a bit, "I probably have" I paused again, "do you know my name?"
She looked at me for a moment, "no"
I felt my heart drop, this may be harder than I thought.
"but I know WHO you are, if that makes any sense?" she said, and almost seemed frustrated with herself.
"some what" I said and gave her an encouraging smile, "what about be do you remember?"
"...your my boyfriend, aren't you?"
"yes I am," I replied and felt my smile get a little bigger.
"can I ask you a question?"
"you just did" I said and winked.
Her smile grew huge and she laughed and laughed, letting tears roll down her face. I wasn't sure why she though that was so funny but I was more than happy to make her laugh.
After a moment she wiped away a tear and gave me a big grin and suddenly it faded a little.
"something wrong?"
"im...not home am I?" she said and looked around the hospital room.
"no your not" I said, hoping that was were getting somewhere.
"where do I live?"
"Connecticut"
"where am I?"
"California"
"why am I in California?"
I stopped for a second, how was I going to let her know that she was dating a rockstar?
And that we had met over the internet?
And that she had left a perfectly good guy for confused, pitty, needy ME?
How was I going to explain US?
"to visit me" I replied as lightly as I could.
"why do you live here?"
"because my jobs here"
she stared at me again with her 'think' face again then paused, "your...famous, aren't you?"
I paused for a moment, and let out a sigh, "you should really get some sleep"
She looked at me for a second and seemed as if she was going to argue but before she could say anything she let out a big yawn.
I laughed and laid back in my chair, fighting the erge to yawn too.
She slid down under the blankets and turned to face me, "don't leave, okay?"
"never" I said and grabbed her hand again.
She smiled and closed her eyes. And all I could her was her breathing, the clock and the rain.
Then something completely unexpected happened.
Emily gently released my hand and rolled over on her other side and whispered, "goodnight nick"
