Confession in the catholic church required a donation. So enough said about that. Furthermore the concept of purgatory indicated that donations would reduce the sentace of a soul. And even more concerning was the idea that babies that were not baptised would be sent to purgatory. And people say that Scientology is creapy. All religion is creapy but if you are used to something it is simply acepted. Keep an open mind and take from life what you feel is true to you from all sources of info

Good to see people doing their homework though, the only way $cientologists MAY listen is if people who criticise them know exactly what they're criticising.
If you want to really go cross-eyed, try reading some of L Ron's detailed instructions on how to run an org. obsessive and tedious in the extreme!

I also read Dianetics - What a load of hooey!!! It also took me a considerable time to finish it. It's poorly written and an insult to the written word.

I admire your persistence reading such bollocks- I find much of what L Ron writes to be both tedious and irrelevant to anything, not to mention utterly unproven and unfounded.
