I used to sing downtown at Market Square in San Antonio. I sings originals and Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keyes, Al Greene, Gloria Gaynor, Shakira, Gloria Estefan .

Ok, everybody asks about the audition so they will know what to expect. So this is how it goes.

Well, It might be different wherever you go. But for me they gave wristbands out and a ticket for a seat in the stadium. they started giving them out 2 days before just like a concert. You need your birth certificate and ID or something to prove your age. You can look up the audition your going to to find out for sure what you need. You can only take one person in with you so they NEED to go with you to get the ticket and wristband.

They video tape everyone before the audition sitting in the stadium. They get them to learn some song to sing for the camera as a whole group in the stadium.

If you got your wristband the same day, be ready for a long wait. You could be there 12 hours or more waiting.

They bring people down to the middle of the stadium in lines of groups of four. they have booths or fold out tables and they have a couple of people sitting behind each table. Those are the producers of the show. They decide if you pass to the next audition in the next room.

So you stand there next to three other people in a row in front of this table. and they ask each of you to sing for probably 20 seconds . Sometimes they ask for another song. Don't be discouraged. They don't accept most good singers. There are too many good singers out there. They can't pick all of them. That doesn't mean you are not good.

If you get to the next round, you will meet the people that want to know more about you. They will interview you about your life and stuff to see if you are INTERESTING. A couple of days or even a few days later, you will meet the main producers of the show. And they will audition you again and explain to you to wear the same close you auditioned in so it will all look like the same day if you were caught on video before. And they will tell you to bring family or friends to wait for you outside the audition room. IF you pass that one, THEN you will go in front of Randy , Paula and Simon.

If you Get that Golden Ticket, you're going to Hollywood. Before all of it, you sign an agreement. You may not have an agent or record contract and This is a paragraph on that form giving them the right to say anything about you true or false:


"I understand that I may reveal, and other parties may reveal, information about me that is of a personal, private,
embarrassing or unfavorable nature, which information may be factual and/or fictional. I further understand that my
appearance, depiction and/or portrayal in the Program may be disparaging, defamatory, embarrassing or of an otherwise
unfavorable nature which may expose me to public ridicule, humiliation or condemnation. I acknowledge and agree that
Producer shall have the right to (a) include any or all such information and appearances, depictions or portrayals in the
Program as edited by Producer in its sole discretion, and"


So think about it really hard and realise to that IF you don't make it, Don't let that define who you are or how great you are. They are making a SHOW more than a real contest. The competition starts when they have their final picks

She has a great range to her voice, it's just so hard for her to make it because it is hard to market her and her style. I hope that one day record labels get people for there true talent not just looks.
