Wow your comment shows how little you know about music. First of all music has been slowly slaughtered over the years. Most modern day music totally ignores the history of music and its quality has lacked from its ignorance. Metal is finally a genre putting music theory back into ...well music! So if you don't like the sound of heavy distortion that is your problem. But the quality and musical richness of new metal is much more appreciative to what you probably listen to.
