Making 3D Animated Movies Suitable for YouTube Tutorial

Since the release of Seamless 2.161 and the FFmpeg installer, making movies has never been easier.

This tutorial shows how anyone today can make high quality 3d animated movies using free software.

To download Seamless open your browser, and go to seamless3d.com

click on download in the side menu

and download seamless from the first link.

when download is complete, click open folder and double click on the installer file, and follow the prompts.

go back to your browser, scroll down a little and click on the download FFmpeg link

download the FFmpeg installer form the first link, this is all we need for making movies.

double click on the FFmpeg installer and follow the prompts, nothing to it.

Nor run Seamless, make the 3d window full size by double clicking on the title bar.

If we want to make a high definition movie for YouTube, we want to set the 3d window to 1280 by 720 pixels,

to do this open the F10 menu by moving the mouse to the top left corner or press the f10 key

select settings and set the win3dSize field to 1280 720

before the settings can take affect seamless must be closed down.

To get an example file to animate, go back to the browser and click on tutorials in the side menu

click on making movies

and download the nurbs-lathe-avatar.smls file.

Put the smls file in a new empty folder.

and Double click on it to open it into Seamless.

Now this is all we have to do to make a movie in seamless:

Right click on the Anim node in the Scene Tree window and select:
output screenshot movie.

Seamless is now taking screen shots for each frame of the movie,

and is now running FFmpeg to create a movie file from the screenshots.

The movie file and all the screenshot files are put in the folder you put the smls file in.

The AVI file is the movie file, this file you upload to YouTube

You can also play the movie offline.

If I double click on the AVI file it plays for me in windows media player fine but I have heard not everyone can play it.

You might want to try VLC media player, it should have no problem, it can play all sorts if files.

@TechnoFreak181 Lol I was just playing about with echo using Audacity. I have spent most of this year getting seamless to be able to allow the artist to synthesize speech with expression. The new synth features, which I hope to show how to use in the not too distant future, can also synthesize all sorts of exciting sound effects. Thanks for favoriting this video :)
