Sunrise Dance Part 1

Sunrise dance on the White Mountain Apache Reservation! Concerning the Young girl as she goes through puberty she must be given a ceremony showing her womanhood! This is a sacred event that has been around for hundreds of years and is still performed on the Apache reservation where the culture is prevalent! Located Arizona East of Phoenix and south east of Flagstaff!

im navajo and my ceremony was the same sorta.. but i had to run instead fo dance.. and stay up all nite on the last day

actually she does the same thing. but she doesnt run as long as the navajos run, she dances all day, and runs a short distance on the field then back~ but man its an all day thing, n its hot!

the girl is beautiful and is doing fine, so are the women. too bad for all the iron horses and all the men dressed as cowboys or rappers. be proud of your heritage, speak your language and wear you hair your ancestor's way. true apaches rule.

@tachinii4life The Apache brought fear to the white man, while ihe Navajo were subjated. i am half Dine and half Mescalero but both tribes have good things about them. Neither is superior to the other. We are alll one.
