Cheerleaders in Iowa had the idea to form cheer squads for kids with special needs. They submitted their idea, you voted, and The Sparkle Effect won a $25,000 Pepsi Refresh grant. The Pepsi Refresh Project is giving millions of dollars to fund ideas that refresh the world.

Every time you drink Pepsi, you support the Pepsi Refresh Project.

  • Wow okay seriously people? I am looking at some of these comments, it makes me just want to cry. You people are so horrible, rude, selfish, everything. These girls go to my school and I have the pleasure of knowing a few of them. They are people just like we are and if anything they are better people then most of us will ever be. If you EVER make fun of these girls or anything like that, I hope that someday you grow old and suffer. Yes. Suffer. That's what you deserve. So, GROW UP.

  • Living in the Quad City area I can tell you personally what a great thing this is. These girls have turned into "rockstars" over the last year for just being themselves. I know their family and classmates are proud of their accomplishments. So the only "fucked up" thing about this is the people who have negative things to say. Kudos to PV and running with the idea. You made me proud when I first saw the commercial on TV tonight. Keep up the good work and don't even read the negativity!

  • hey thats my school oh and that top rated comment Nicoleandcarlie one of those girls is my sister but yeah thanks pepsi its great what your doing keep it up

  • My cousin is mentally handicapped. She would love something like this. We love her so much(: it's awesome what these girls are doing

  • @NicoleandCarlie I hear you on that I wish these trolls would just get a life since I know what its like to be part of the special needs community myself. These girls no matter what they have deserve to cheer. In fact there are all-star teams that form special needs teams too. I seen this commercial on TV and learned about this team on Oprah. I mean I seen people with Downs Syndrome do brilliant things like swimming.

  • @ProjectILT Okay, so I'm just wondering, what did ANY of these girls do to you? Nothing they did nothing to you. So please stop I adore these girls, they are amazing and they just want to live their lives and have fun. There is NOTHING wrong with that at all. So stop it makes my heart break reading these things you say. You need to grow up and realize you arent the only person on this world and no one is perfect. Thank you.
