2002
My first year student film at VCA School of Film & TV (Melb, Aus)

=============
'Desert' arose from the struggles facing the Australian Middle-Eastern communities in 2001. During that dawn, when there was scarce understanding or media coverage of the Arab-Australian perspective, we decided to collaborate on a short film that symbolised the migrant aspirations through the eyes of a young boy as his family journeys towards a new country.

Exhibited in film festivals around Australia and events to raise cultural identity and humanitarian awareness.

(if i might say so myself, not bad for my first time at Directing and making a complete short film production :D not bad for freshies holding a camera for the first time, battling production issues .. ehhe how vintage, it was shot on SPBeta! Youtubers these days with access to DSLRs won't appreciate the 'olden days' when no one had access to cameras ... and one would have to pay extra for 'instant' overnight development at the lab ... Betacam Cameras are huge and weigh a tonne ... check out my other clip Games Children Play which I shot on a soundless camera from WW2 spliced on a Steenbeck, film frames stuck together with tape and glue! )
