This is a video of our new fennec fox kit, Scout, being introduced to our lab/border collie mix, Doggie. He was scared at first but after a minute of sniffing around he started screaming in happiness. This is the sound a fox makes when they are happy. In this video, Scout is 6 weeks old. It was shot the day we first brought him home.
You must have a permit in Florida to own a fox (which I have 2, since I also have spooky, my arctic fox).

Owning a fox is nothing like owning a cat or dog and takes a ton of patience and responsibility. Instead of mailing me over and over again for information on these awesome little guys, Just google it and please do some research for yourself before asking. Questions about where I got him, how much, how I got my permit, will not be answered. There's tons of information about that on the Internet which you may find for yourself.

  • I always love how much of a big sister doggie is to scout.

  • @MyNameIsNotJarf was*, I miss her dearly and not a day goes by where I don't miss her.

  • Have you ever had problems with your foxes fighting?

  • Never. Scout gets really excited when he sees spooky. They mainly stay away from eachother. Usually by choice. Scout likes to play under the bed in the bedroom and spooky likes to lay on the cold tile in the kitchen or hallway.

  • Scout is actually treating Doggy like a parent, he's begging for food. I assume that fennecs, like most canines, carry 'extra' food for young pups or kits in their stomachs and throw up the partially digested food when they get back to the den. That's why Scout is licking and whining around Doggy's muzzle, to get him to throw up some dinner for Scout.

  • My goodness I'm so jealous.

I love foxes, and arctic ones are my favorite, and fennecs are also too adorable for words.

  • Aw! Im sorry!

There's not many things that compare to a lost dog. Thankfully, i think loyal dogs and owners can be reunited in the life after, so dont feel too bad now!

  • Scout is the cutest fennec fox in the world!

  • did u notice that on all your videos theres always just 4 dislikes?

  • Scout: Boy, you sure are a big fox! And dark...and floppy eared and...

  • Hi live in florida also. and im about to get a IIIwildlife permit. where did you get sout or spooky?. and i know spooky passed away, are seizures common in artic foxes?

  • Scout: Are you my new mommy ?

Doggie: Are you my new dinner ?

That thing is tiny !!! And so cute !

  • @kaymonty2003 I'm not a fennec owner, myself, but from what I've heard, the idea of training your fennec fox to use any kind of 'bathroom' routine can be hit-or-miss. They can be creatures that you simply have to clean up after around your home.

They can slip out of collars and harnesses quite easily, and can easily dig under fences that aren't extremely well-buried. Some owners have reported litter box success, but keep in mind, to a desert fox, a litter box is a really fun looking sandbox!

  • Listen, I read your description, and I spent HOURS searching on getting a permit (in California).

Please tell me, how did you get yours?
