  • Well Mr. McNeal i happen to be of both Irish and Scottish decent, and also from North Carolina. Just right down the road from where the Avett bros are from in fact. You are correct in saying that most bluegrass is derived from Scottish and Irish music. Because who do think settled the Appalachian mountains. I recommend you look up the Chieftains "Down the old plank road".
