The Ural Philharmonic Orchestra performs American composer William Schuman's "New England Triptych", under the direction of conductor Alan Heatherington. Featured in the video is an excerpt from the second movement, which is based on William Billings' hymn, "When Jesus Wept", the text of which is as follows:

"When Jesus wept the falling tear
In mercy flowed beyond all bound;
When Jesus groaned, a trembling fear
Seized all the guilty world around."

  • fucking goosebumps all over my body

  • haha hi john! and dont worry you'll play amazingly.

  • it was originally written for bassoon and oboe and transcribed for band in which it was changed to euphonium and cornet

  • The oboe is amazingly beautiful. My band will play this song and I want to play like that i much as i can.

  • I love the combo of these two instruments...I played the euphonium version...It's such a lovely song and so warm and calm...LOVE IT!

  • We're doing this is my High School Symphonic Band...it's an amazing piece.

  • Beautiful hyms, I just sang it this evening. And btw, it's not "following tear", it's "falling tear".

    But regardless, this is beautiful whether it vocal or instrumental.

  • this is the orchestra version. just letting you know.
