Modeling tips from a FORD model: Open call, prom dresses and Bumpits

What happens at an open call? How do you know if they are interested? Before I had an agent, I attended many open calls and would like to provide some tips that I've learned along the way.

Hi, So I recently just moved to Chicago Illinois to fufill my dreams of becomming a model. I am 6 foot 1 and 19 years old. I play volleyball so you could say I'm athletic built. I moved out here all alone I could really use some tips on how to market myself and things of that nature. I use to be a pageant girl but I have done some modeling a while back (nothing major). Please Help !

So I'm 14 & I'm 5"5' & I've always wanted to be a model , but i have little no no experience , I've like just applied for Ford modeling like 1O minutes ago then i seen you video , do you think they would like consider me because of my age & height ?

@mydopelove Maybe a little short but you have plenty of time to grow a few more inches. Maybe an agency with a children's division would be more suitable for now. :)

Thank you for uploading these tips! I was wondering.. I live in Amsterdam which is in the Netherlands (Europe), and I dont really know if any of the agencies in Amsterdam give open-calls. How do you find out about an open-call if you're not signed to an agency yet?

So to update, I went into the agency and I was really nervous because I was seeing girls and guys walk into their office and leave like a minute later. I went in and they were really nice! I gave them my pictures and talked to the agent and all the head people of the agency looked at them in another room, and I could hear them saying good things. Then the head people came in and said they wanted to work with me!! yayayayyy! so excited!! thank you so much!!

I am going to my first open call tomorrow, and I am sooo nervous! I am 5'9 1/2" and 15 years old. Hopefully it goes well! How many girls on average go to an open call? The agency that I am trying for is supposed to be the best in the area, but it isn't a huge agency like Ford, although I might try for Ford as well. I have no experience, so I am kind of freaking out!!

Hi! I loved this video, it was really informative. I'm 16 and I was recently invited to an open call with Wilhelmina models. I watched another video by a girl who had been through an open call with them, and she said that she had to walk for them. Is that a typical thing? And do the pictures need to be a certain size, or is 4x6 ok?
