@Qbite Both cards are pretty good. And since the 5870's are going for about the same price as the 470's it's really tough to decide. But since I love nvidia, I would go with the fermi cards.

I have the Gigabyte version of this card & it's good,,,,
the main and only disappointment that it's loud

@AxemastaGAMING Having two cards in SLI will block a bit of airflow for each card. I have a single 470GTX and it idles at around 50 degrees - which is normal. Upon load it can get up to anywhere from 60-80 degrees. Wouldn't say they are the most efficient card on the market but can't complain. Just gotta have sound higher than the fucking fan (which is very loud at 80%). At temps over 100 degrees you can really start damaging the chip.

@AxemastaGAMING i guess u dont throw big enough stuff at it i got mine to hit 78 yesterday but it was a very hot day + i dont have proper cooling yet

I'm still afraid of those high temps dude, you're almost at the deadline of the temp.
-
@civixboi Temps are like my old GTX 9800 Black Edition :) 60°C in idle, about 90 while running Vantage and Furmark an freeze with black screen :D
Stock air cooler sucks, even the from the 580 and 570 -> they got an fucking cheap looking, but are cooler than the 480's...
BUY WATERBLOCKS with CHILLER's or CASCADE (or SS) :)))))

Just capture the screen with Fraps or something like that ;D

@Techmaster05 how could you get 21k? my gtx 470 only got 18k with i7 950 and 12gb ddr3 133 no OC

@tommy714pham i think lifetime refers to the life time of the card. but im not sure if it should be more than 2 years
What is cooling those cards???? My gts 250 loads at 50 degrees, yours idle at 60 xS

@AxemastaGAMING The new cards (fermi) runs a little bit hotter than other nvidia cards. But, these cards are rated to run at a max temp of 105c. But they max out, under normal use, at 70c - 80c. During 3D Mark bench testing, they run at a blistering 95c. Yet, these high temps are normal according to nvidia.

So you where running SLi??? hmmmm... I thought 2 470's would do a lot better in vantage. My GTX 295 with B/P (oced) does 21000 in vantage. I know its a dual gpu card but two 470's put together should smoke it. Than again when my card comes to tesselation and all that, wont stand a chance against this card, but kind of a let down in my opinion to see that my 295 is almost as good as two 470's

@Techmaster05 Well, If you look at my newest video comparing one gtx 470 versus 2 gtx 470s. You'll see that my sli gtx 470 kills your gtx 295 by 3,000 points. My sli 470s tops at 24,000 points. And 3,000 is a lot. Could you get your gtx 295 to score that much?
Bragging aside, =), a gtx 295 is a pretty powerful card. And yes, it wouldn't be a huge upgrade.
