This is a video podcast I made for the podcast I run, The Big Bang and Creationism (my homepage can be found at lucretius1.blogspot.com/) It goes over the history of our universe, with some nice visuals, mostly courtesy of Wikipedia and the Hubble Space Telescope gallery site. I had to split it into two parts. This is part 1. Part two can be found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RHfUF...

Yes, there is. The cosmic microwave background radiation and the redshift of galaxies come to mind. Not wanting to see the evidence doesn't make it go away.
And even *if* everything had been set in motion by a god, it doesn't mean it's the one from your Bible. Maybe it was Twinky the Blue-Nosed Giraffe.
I was the one who said that by the way. In any case, that same concept can be applied to the Big Bang Theory. Is there any concrete evidence to this theory? Well of course not, because it's a theory based on the "knowledge" of men. I am by no means trying to start an internet argument, but it is baffling to hear people say that there's no evidence to prove that God exists. So I'll say the Bible is proof, what's your proof that the universe was created from a small matter of energy?
Fear. In the world of reasons & limits it is habit to grab onto what you've adopted as yours and check often to see if the posts holding it up (science, logic, consensus) are still solid; justified. Belief clings; faith lets go. Belief is mind based; but mind never stops churning; faith is of heart and soul. Letting go is the way beyond mind. Learning is behavior change due to experience; experience of God changes one forever - beyond this life of doubt to where questions end & joy begins.
Hmm, so why is it that people are so willing to fight against the fact that God created the universe? Is it just too incomprehensible? Why is it that people want to believe in a theory fabricated by men, but are so antithetical to the belief in God? Do respond, because I've never understood this particular concept. What is the reason behind the opposition?
Our brains are not smart enough to know what really happend and we will never know we just would not understand it. big bang theory is a guess just like god soon sciance will be more about faith than god is .

"so why is it that people are so willing to fight against the fact that God created the universe?"
Because there is no evidence for any gods creating universes.
