Nice. Msd ignition, carb conversion, Ls1 cam & springs, double roller timing chain for a budget set-up is by far the best thing to get in to without upgrading the rotating assembly. I read that a stock 4.8L short block managed to exceed 1200 hp using a pair of turbos. Like that is incredible. That is the reason for me doing research on this series of engine. I love them even though I have not had a chance to get my hands on an Ls...
Carbed LS's rule. I'm doing a 6.0L swap in my 74 Chevelle and also thinking about dropping my th350 for a t56 as well. Do you thing you can send my the link for your t56 swap? I could really use the help since no one has done either of these swaps to my car.
We paid $1800 for just the motor and carb conversion kit.. it's the little things that add up. I did this swap in El paso and they have nothing but dirt over there! If I would have done the swap here in Fort Worth it would of been half the price. Here is a link that will take you to the build of the truck and also when I did the 6 speed swap. Good luck on the build and if there is anything I can help with just ask,
Hey BigBeast88, Thanks for the comment! #1)- In this Video we have a turbo 350 on it, but we have since then swapped it out and we are now running a t56 in it now. #2)-Yes we had to use motor mount adapters from trans dapt. #3)- As for the wiring harness, we used the edelbrock conversion kit that has the box and harness. #4)-The conversion was pretty easy but then again I have been workinh on cars since I was 7yrs old. #5)- We have about $3500 in the conversion...

now do you have to have a distributor or just edelbrocks ign box? also, how the heck do you time it?
im gonna be 6.0 my nova with a carb this winter and was wondering how that set up worked for you.

Wish you would have got the MSD 601 box yet? The timing chips that come with the Edelbrock kit are junk.

I bought the same edelbrock intake and ignition controller for a 6.0 to go in my nova. You dont have to mount the ignition box right there do you?

what type of intake gasket did you use? need help?
