In push hands we are told to "avoid being double weighted". But does that mean avoid having half of your weight in each foot? If so, it would be hard to shift weight since at some point in that shift you would have half your weight in each leg, and thus, by that commonly accepted definition, you would be double weighted.

  • This is true. Clearly differentiate the substantial from the insubstantial, the weighted from the not weighted. Yield and don't let anyone rest their weight or force on you.
