Geico spends a fortune on entertaining ads, but their little lizard would quit if he knew how they refuse to pay legitimate claims. After three weeks of their absurd excuses, when I saw their ad showing a rear end collision and their prompt payment, it just lost it. So,I put my own words to their ad.
In my case I was rear ended by one of their insured on slow highway traffic . The woman got out of her Ford ranger, appologized, saying "my insurance company will pay for it," as she gave me a copy of her insurance card, writing down phone and license number.
Only then, she off handedly said she had been hit by a car behind her. Problem is absolutely no damage to her car, she never called the cops as he took off, and she showed no physical effect of a car slamming into her, ( State law requires 100% certainty car was "pushed" into car ahead for release from liability)
Nevertheless, this story was good enough for Geico, as they are telling me no payment for my smashed car. Not only don't they care about my legitimate claim, but they don't care about their customer, who will have to appear in court to defend herself.
Insurance fraud, when people who are hit as I was fabricate injury, causes rates to go up for everyone. Geico doesn't care that fighting someone who was straight with them, sends a message that to get fair treatment, you have to be prepared to build up case by any means. And unless you have injuries enough to attract a contingency lawyer, Geico will screw you over knowing you won't pay for legal action.
If only that Aussie Gecko knew the truth about the company he's working for. This blog goes into more details:

It's their job not to pay because they want to keep as much money for the company as possible. These companies care nothing about messing people over, it's all about the profit for them and investors. I'm on a mission to expose their games.

check out my channel (geicosucksandblows), we had a videotape of the accident, and a police report saying the geico insured driver was at fault. geico still would not pay. I had to file a claim with my insurance, and then my insurance had to take geico to court. It took 7 months, but my insurance won. I'm not sure how refusing to pay claims makes geico more $, unless just not enough people are following through.

I would rather deal with a local insurance house and get to know my agent just a little bit - it helps a lot. I'm not surprised that a Co. like Geico that advertises internationally would give poor little nobody the Customer the runaround.

This is not trying to stick up for geico or declare anyone at fault I am just offering an insight on how the liability adjuster would view it. if there was not a 3rd car involved then geico would be responsible for the damages but if there was a 3rd car involved there is a set of questions they ask to try to determine if it is true or false and see if the 3rd car pushed into you or not. Definitely consult with a supervisor if there was only 2 cars involved.

if you call the cops they are issuing a ticket they come out write what they see and issue a ticket its kind of like there bill for coming out. I worked in the claims dept as a liability adjuster in geico and it is structured your claim would be handled by a specialized adjuster and if you truly feel you are not at fault ask for a supervisor it is one of the operating principles the company strictly enforces you have the right to consult management at any time.

There would have to be alot more to it and the insurance laws very from state to state. I am curious to know more details to the inicident the blog is no longer there I looked. If someone had pushed her into you then geico would not be the responsible party if it goes to court its not taking just her to court geico is obligated per contract to support her in court. Anyone that admits at the scene they are at fault does not make them at fault the police only determine criminal not civil liabilty

you should have called the police- if the driver admits fault to the police regardless of circumstance she is at fault and Geico would have been compelled to pay- also they would have discounted her story if they could not discover skid marks from the phantom vehicle
but if you sit there and listen to people's crap and dont call the cops especially when it is not your fault- well then what can you say ?
