How to do a Suicide Choke from Submissions 101: Japanese Jujutsu

The suicide choke comes on very quick and is VERY tight. One of my personal favorites! Japanese Jujutsu Ne Waza and also found in other arts like judo and BJJ.

As far as how effective Jiu-Jitsu is for a smaller practitioner. It is the best style for small people. I remember a Jiu-Jitsu tournament Me and a few people from my school were in. My best friend at the time was 135 lbs. He submitted a 280 lb. opponent. No shit. Of course you can't expect to beat a more powerful opponent strength on strength. You must use technique and agility. Size doesn't determine the outcome, its about how you use your size as an advantage.

to a point you are completely right. this is one of the aspects that royce gracie showed to us with his mma career. he even submitted a 400lbs sumo wrestler. however i do not find this an ideal martia art for smaller people anything that inclines you to take an opponent to the groundwhen you are smaller is dangerous you risk a possibility of being overpowered from this position. a standing striking art that youcan keep adistance is probably more ideal for a small person.karate and tkd are good

its not the place you live its the person you are.. i know lots of mainlanders who fight and others who talk about fighting to sound tough.. there is plently of ju jitsu to use with out having a shirt on.. gi chokes and collar chokes are just a very very small part.. but yet you stereotype ppl and bjj... not cool

Whoa whoa... How did I stereotype people that use the gi? or without for that matter? Personally I like No-gi grappling but still think highly of the gi... I was just explaining to willparadigm why I think BJJ is dangerous on the street.and why us hawaiians take off our shirt when we fight. If I sounded like I was talking out of my ass, that was unintentional. Peace...

the whole idea of BJJ is that you don't have to be bigger or stronger, thats why Rorion Gracie chose his smallest son Royce to represent their art in the first UFC comp.
