O, blessed riches of God's grace,
He lavish'd gloriously,
Through Jesus Christ, God's only Son,
died at Calvary.

Christ took the blow, the curse, the wrath
That should have been on me.
He died and suffer'd shameful woes,
And by truth made me free.

Christ was made sin, yet, without sin;
The Father He did please,
With every righteous thought and deed
E'en hanging on that tree.

Most blessed hope in Christ alone;
God's wrath did Jesus take.
God's mercy is upon me now,
For His own glory's sake!
