Barbara Muir's Opening at Amsterdam Whitney Gallery, Chelsea, NY

Barbara Muir is a painter known for her portraits, still life, and landscape work. Her bright, acrylic paintings reflect her vibrant, joyous worldview, and her love of strong, high-key color combinations. Muir has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show drawing Oprah live via Skype from the artist's home in Toronto, Canada. Muir was featured in Canada's leading newspaper, The Globe and Mail, on City TV's Breakfast Television, and on a City TV evening news special report. One of her paintings was displayed on Real Life CTS TV. She was the artist chosen to create a portrait for a recent episode of HGTV's Pure Design. Style at Home Magazine showcased Muir's work in their July 2010 issue, and in August, while exhibiting at Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in NYC, she was featured on the Kristal Hart Show which broadcasts on Manhattan Cable. Muir traveled to Florence, Italy to show in the Florence Biennale and is in demand for commissions and international exhibitions.

Homeschooling is the solution to schools cutting the vital classes, and i consider art and creativity two of the most basic and necessary life skills.

Great to see some exposure for artist, amazing how few art shows there are on the TV (which i don't watch) i just remember watching "The joy of Painting" back in the day with Bob Ross....probably one of the best TV shows of all time.
