This runway was closed for 3 days for maintenance work, but I had work I needed to get done out there, so I stole the oppertunity to get my work done during the short, rare period the runway was closed during the daytime.
I took my HD camcorder out when I was working on the Runway, and had some spare time to shoot some interesting and very rare footage of Dulles' longest Runway.
In this video you will see the entire length of the Runway from both ends, as well as some of the adjacent Taxiway Quebec, and some aircraft landing on Runway 1C.
In this case, aircraft are seen 50-75 feet off the ground, about 1000 feet from the end of Runway 1C.
Top speed reached was 50 MPH and is noted in the video until points where I must slow down (also noted). The centerline is 1 yard thick, and the Runway itself it 2 miles long in a vast open space, which is why 50 MPH feels like 20 MPH.
Watch closely for objects in the distance as well. 3 Control Towers are visible, as well as planes landing on R/W 1R and 1 C (planes landing on 1C are close, 1R is 1-3 miles away depending upon where current location on 12/30); the Main Terminal and the one of the daily parking garages is visible with mobile lounges driving past.
@Arevirr1 You are allowed to publicly release legal information concerning the International Airport operated by the Federal Aviation Administration?

As a controller at IAD, I assure you that OPS and MWAA came out and took pictures of 30 for 3 full hours last week to help their case against the previous contractors. The RY was supposed to last xx years but they are having to patch all the time. They are suing the contracter who did the pavement back in 2004.Trust me, I know about patches and gap materials etc. The runways at IAD take a beating with all the heavy jets!

The new runway 30 is subject of a lawsuit. It is falling apart.
