We were at Lava when this was shot. Pearce Rapid is impressive at 41K.

the river has carved into the sand of the old lake bottom and walls continually collapse as they are undercut.

@guaranic The splash was caused by the dirt wall falling into the water. This area was all under Lake Mead and is sediment.

Having watched some footage of flash floods here on youtube, I'd guess that the bank was undercut, fell in, and created the splash.

and at about 0:33 whats the big splash on the far wall?
