@KinetiK138 Actually Derek just got tired of the whole touring thing, he wanted to spend more time at home with his wife and his other hobby breeding Black Head Python's which is how I met Derek.

@danlc95 I have the same opinion. Why can't he stay in a band though, aren't all drummers predestined to be in a band always? Is he an insufferable asshole or is he just another crazy genius who prefers his own way (ala Devin Townsend?)

I'm got to meet him and he was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He was so happy to give an signature and photo. Thanks for the interview.

@aileanwazere beside the fact, that speed is not everything- George ist faster, than most of the heel toe players. anyway...when do people start liking George for being a drummer, not just for his speed?!

the so-called "swivel technique" is heel up but he moves his ancle every two beats of the bass drum
without getting into simantics thats heel up with a small difference
i dont dislike death metal
i like some nile and behemoth
axis pedals can be abused and so can triggers
that does not mean everyone does it
also heel toe may be a technique but it is un necessary like i said before
kollias is just as fast as any heel-toe player
