@quafer I dont understand why there was even bloc judging at the 98 Olympics. The top 2 Russian teams were going to go 1-2 clearly even without the bloc judging. And the Russians shouldnt have even cared about what happened with the rest including their 3rd team who they only unexpectedly needed to step up as their #1 two years later after a horrible career ending injury to Anjelika. It was a shame there was bloc judging which unfairly took away due recognition to the top 2 Russian teams.

@gk891 i will say though that b/k made a marked improvement in 2003, their last year in the amateur ranks and the year they won worlds. they had better speed and flow this year and their free dance was excellent.

@quafer Glad you agree. What I really disliked about Bourne & Kraatz was all the hand to hand and side by side skating. Skating with such simple handholds enables ice dancers to skate with more speed and power but they couldn't even do that! B&K had improved tremendously under Klimova & Ponomarenko in 1995 but their improvement really stalled after that. I could never understand why so many people made them out to be so great.

I've had the privilege of taking lessons with Oksana, and she's wonderful! Not only is she a great skater, but she's also a great person! She's so nice and pretty, and she's so modest and humble.

I'm *really* not a fan of this team at all - there are times when I can't stand watching them - but in this particular routine from them is excellent. It is a true quick step and could be danced off the ice and on a ball-room floor.
B&K's quick-step doesn't comes close to the technical level of difficulty displayed here.
@gk891 totally agree with u...i'm canadian but looking back i do think that b/k were overrated, esp by the north american media. i saw them skate live and they were VERY slow and simply couldn't hold a candle to grishuk and platov technically. it's unfortunate that the judging controversies of the 90s obscure the fact that grishuk/platov truly were the best team of that decade, and one of the best teams ever.

Oksana has a mastery of edges like no one else. She does not simply skate- she truly flies over the ice. I love her skating.
