A very nice song which is very well-known to all Greeks even today!!! When Greece was invaded on 28.10.1940, this song was sung in Greek verses against Mussolini...However, my late uncle, who spoke Italian, used to sing it in its Italian verses. To be noted that Italian singers and their songs were and still are very popular in Greece. Greeks love Italy and its people.

The words to this song describe my mothers birthplace, in the hills of Abbruzzi. I was fortunate to visit the little town my mother was born in and I saw what the song describes. The beauty of this place is sung in the lyrics of this song and when I hear it, I see visions of the beautiful hills and valleys of Abbruzzi.
