  • nice cameras I got an ae-1 with lens from the local pawnshop for 40$ does the range finder have interchangeable lens?

  • @HDv1de0 No, the QL17 does not have an interchangeable lens.

  • i dont know anything about film slrs so this might sound really stupid but to get the picures from the canon ae 1 u go to like walgreens and get the film developed right? its not like u hook up a usb cable of course. but anyway if u want to get ure images on the omputer u take it to walgreens one hour later uve got the images and then u scan them in? is that right? please help cuz i really like the good dof and quality of the ae 1 and that it so cheap and small,

  • Yeah, you can scan them yourself, (always scan the negatives, not the prints), or you can get them to scan the pictures at the time they develop them, I know Wal-mart offers scanning services, but I'm not sure about Walgreens. These services are generally low-resolution scans, not suitable for printing larger than 4x6". There are dedicated camera shops and online services that offer high-resolution scans, albeit at a much higher price. It depends what you wanna do with your photos.

  • @HDv1de0 ok looks cool Iv'e got some old camera's myself

  • @amspiro

Find a good film development place. I know one in Chicago is Quality Photo Plus, but if you find a specialty place they're usually cheaper and much higher quality.

  • @amspiro You have to get the film developed before you can do anything else. It's generally most convenient to have a some other place develop the film rather than trying to do it yourself (B&W print film is the easiest to do yourself, but you still need a light-tight room and some chemicals; other films you cannot do yourself).

Once that's done, you'll have some prints with the film negs (unless you used slide film). It's best to have a special scanner to scan the film negs.

  • Dude that Robot Royal 36 is soooo cool.

  • The AE-1P will not allow any functions to operate (including the lever) when there is no battery. I know this because I own an AE-1P myself.

  • my friend just lend me his dad AE-1 P. it doesn't have a battery, but my concern is the film advance lever of it can't be move to its full position. i've make a research and some says that it locks when the battery is empty or the film is full. what do you think guys? tnx!

  • QL17 is better, because is fully manual

  • Get both! :D
