Learn how to make layouts using Close to My Heart (CTMH) scrapbooking patterns.

I use a three-level approach:
1) Basic - I use paper with a preprinted layout to make a simple, yet attractive page.
2) Step It Up - Using a pattern from the book, Reflections, I make a creative layout and add an embellishment.
3) Glam It Up - Building upon the Step It Up page, I add stamping to my layout.

The video shows demonstrates Levels 1 and 2. Part II of this video series will show you Level 3.

  • At the beginning I was having fun, but seeing everybody and their extravagant layouts made me feel like I had to jazz up my layouts then I started getting stress about how plain it was or how it didn't looked like the ones online. Thanks to your video, now I can just do it my way, as long as I am my cheerful self again when I scrapbook. :]

  • @alwayshayla Glad you enjoyed the video. As I've said, never compare yourself to others. You'll just find ways to tear yourself down, which is NEVER good. Just go with your own unique flow and enjoy it!

  • I just subsrcibed to you. I like your way of thinking regarding the whole layout skills/ creativity. I am one who stresses when I have no idea as to how to start or how to make a beautiful layout as ive seen other ladies do. Im alwways comparing myself with others & putting myself down when i see there work & mine ( i feel like I have no creativity). Now I will start think diffrent. You are so right it should b relaxing not stressful. I do ask myself thoug how others do really challeging layouts

  • @AF0093 I sometimes have trouble coming up with layout ideas too which is why I love patterns and sketches. They always give me ideas. My advice is to enjoy the process. Stick with techniques you like, try new ones. Just enjoy it. Remember this is supposed to be fun! And never compare your work to others. Your creations are unique to you and no one else. Besides, comparing kills creative mojo!

  • @peachtea013 Thanks for watching! I'm glad I'm able to make it easy for you. Be sure to read the blog for more ideas.

  • I am new to scrapbooking and I really appreciated your intro about the wide range of approaches you can take to scrapbooking. It's easy to get a little intimidated by some of the videos and examples out there, and think 'my pages will never measure up to ____'. Better to relax and have fun with it! Life is too short to stress out about these things.

  • @rumblestrip66 Definitely relax and have fun with it. That's when your own creativity really flows. Your style is unique to you and no one else. You don't have to measure up to anyone. Thanks for watching!
