May 19, 2011 - A tornado in Alabama blew him away, but one dog crawled back home on two broken legs. WBRC has more.

They did their pet a huge favor by letting the shelter take him. Their home is gone, they have absolutely no way of caring for themselves, much less a dog right now. He might have died if they kept him. They gave him away to let him recover in a safe environment, that's a really tough decision. Don't knock pet owners for doing the best for their pets. Plus they are getting him back when they are back on their feet and able to care for him again. Thumbs up for doing the right thing. It's hard.

I would never ever have given him up.I would have shared what ever I had with him. Maybe they were afraid of the Vet bills which would be astronomical.If that were the case it would be a difficult thing for them to do.

what !! This dogs crawls all the way back to his home whit 2 broken legs...and the owner did what !!!!!! Give him up after !!! I would never give a dog no matter what, animals compagnion are part of family .Our pets NEVER give up on us, no matter what we do, and so we should not give up ..

Animals have minds, personalities and feelings. Hope the dog will have a loving family and care for him for a life time.

I'll save judgement on the former owners as that's not my business. I just know what I would have done in this situation - actually in any situation - my dog would come before the material and I would have kept her.

And you may have been the first person to comment on this particular video, but your not the first person to comment on this story as a whole. You just hear what you want to hear, a typical youtuber jumping on the bandwagon of every other negative, spite driven comment on here. It's as if people have been watching this videos regarding Mason with the sound on mute. But I guess you can say what you want about a family who now has nothing while you sit in your warm comfortable home, spouting out criticism behind the safety of your computer screen
