Thursday Download VLC Media Player

Welcome back to the Thursday Download I am your host Renshy84.
This weeks featured download is the VLC Media Player.

I am going to walk you through a quick download of the product and show you a couple key features.
As you can see the download is only 17 mb and does not take long at all to download. I chose to download this from Secured Servers Network in the United States because I have always had the most reliable download from there.
There is absolutely NO SPYWARE, ADWARE, VIRUSES or any type of malicious software in this download.
This is a very simplistic media player that plays a wide variety of formats some of which include mp4, avi, ogg, acc, mp3 and many many others. See their site for more details.
The best thing about this media player is that it doesn't require you to download codec's. You know what codec's are, they are those annoying files that windows media player always ask you to download every time you want to watch a different kind of media. Well say goodbye to those! I have been using this media player for a couple months with no problems at all, by far one of the most reliable programs I have ever used.
Now that the download is complete I'll walk you through the install, as you can see there are quite a bit of files for 17 mb. But Its well worth it. The install goes smoothly and does not take very long at all. Also when its done it doesn't require you to restart your computer. Oh and in case you were wondering, Yes it is available for Mac, and for Windows 7 as well as Linux.
And here is the tiny player. I am going to show you a couple examples of files being played in the program. Sorry about the fact that there is no sound, I accidently cut it out. I picked a avi and mp4 file that i have uploaded to youtube to play. You can see it goes into full screen mode very easily. You can even change the audio and video effects. I have not really messed with those yet but have seen some neat things on their site. There are lots of ways that you can import media to this player, you can open a file, directory or even a streaming location. There are other options as well to view the codec information that it uses. You can increase the volume well past the 100 percent that your computer lets you get it to, and you can also mute it with a very simple mouse click. The buttons at the side of the progress bar allow you to speed up and slow down the video. You can even use sub titles with this media player!

omg thank u!!!!! this just made my day even better!!, got a 80 out of 80 on my math test and now i can get back to watching my dvds cause crappy windows media player broke for some reason, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >.<

@AnayRogerFederer I am not sure why you are having that issue with windows 7. I use windows xp, vista, and linux mint. I haven't had the chance to play with windows 7. You may try the vlc website. They may have a fix for your issue. Or maybe try contacting them as they may not know that this is an issue.

Hey i hve a question:When i try to run any video through this software on windows 7 ultimate,it changes my theme back to windows 7 basic.I still remember that it was not occurring before..I am using the latest version & reinstalled the application many times but still the problem returned...

Please help
