My daughter turns three in December so for Christmas i got her a youth rifle to get her started...i was started young by my Father so i am doing the same with my child..i have never been involved in any gun crimes...but I can protect my home i can hunt and provide for my family if need be and this is knowledge that i want to pass along!!!.And I guess one last thing ..i have a house full of guns and a toddler.and no safety issues ...so You are correct about early training is a good thing

I'l tell you Americans that you should be happy that you dont have the same laws as in Sweden.In Sweden if a criminal breaks into your home and he falls off the stares without you touching him, he can sew you and even win the case.And you will have to pay for everything.It has realy happened over there. @chucknchar Introducing kids to guns early is the best thing to do. Because if you are a responsible parent, your child will listen to you when you explain the harm guns can cause when used improperly. Establishing a skill set with that child will ensure they know how to properly use firearms at a young age. I was introduced to guns when I was young by my dad who is a hunter. I have never pointed a gun at anyone and I know how dangerous they can be. Therefore I am careful.
