Congressman Nadler speaks on the floor of the House in support of the Department of Transportation and HUD Appropriation Bill for FY2010. The bill would secure badly needed resources for Housing Opportunity for Person's with AIDS (HOPWA) and Section 8 rental voucher programs to increase affordable housing options for low-income households.

Section 8 housing programs will receive $3.7 billion in additional funds and HOPWA will receive $350 million.

  • I applaud giving sick and poor people between jobs and with medical issues homes to live in. What I don't applaud is the families who abuse the system and no one polices it or if they do they're sued by liberal groups claiming it's either racist or bigotry (based on whether it's race or class related) when all the police groups are trying to do is stop the abuse of people trying to receive free hand outs who are perfectly healthy to work. Mr Obama give Cali schools more money.
