The 2d image was actually made by using multiple layers shown in 3d.. It is a viseversa video for :HOW TO MAKE 2D from a 3D"..
Well of course that wouldnt be catchy would it..?

Try deleting the unnecessary stuff in Photoshop. Like select what you need, layer via cut, then delete all the other background layers. Save the image as PNG (the most important part) and voila!
Import the png in AE and you'll see it works like a charm.

cycore, knoll light and simple color correction plug-in. but all 3d animation was made with afx. by the way, photoshop is very important in this work ;) that's the real trick
